Through it's fundraising and volunteer efforts, the MDLA has made many capitol and program contributions to the library. 

Capitol Improvements

  • Development of the Nunan Butterfly Garden and Lunsford Learning Pavilion

  • Restoration of the Simpson Farmhouse and Dottie Kurras Reading Garden

  • Founding partner of the Mount Dora Archives

  • Purchase of the digital library sign

  • Purchase of the automatic entrance doors

  • Funding of the irrigation, lawn and flagpole

  • Purchase of library upholstered furniture and lobby stools

  • $100,000 sponsorship of the Children's Library remodel

  • Funding of the art gallery hanging system in Children's and the adult lounge

  • Adult area improvements, including a 4K TV in the adult lounge and adult study bar
